Subject: Human Right violation of Br.Yajnanand who was on fast/Satyagrah against Illegal Mining & Quarrying Activities in River Ganga In Kumbh Kshetra(Ajeetpur & Misserpur) and pollution and corruption at Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Selfless Satyagrah of Br. Dayanand and Br. Yajnanand of Matri Sadan is to save Humanity, National River Ganga and Environment and against Corruption and Corrupted Officials.
Evidence: Video Recording of the Incidence that occured in the Matri Sadan Ashram on 18th Nov. is Attached to establish the offence & numerous other evidences to support our cause.

Regarding Human Rights Violations & Kidnapping by unidentified people with their faces covered in the presence of Tehsildar Mr. Pooran Singh Rana, SO (Kankhal), Police Officials & Administrative Officios of Br. Yajnanand of outstanding Character associated with truly spiritual institution Matri Sadan, Haridwar which is fighting against Pollution, Illegal Mining & Quarrying Activities in River Ganga in Kumbh Kshetra Haridwar(Ajeetpur & Misserpur) and against corruption & corrupted officials.
Incidence: On 18th Nov. at around 5:00 pm Tehsildar Mr. Pooran Singh Rana alongwith S.O.(Kankhal) & around 50 unidentified mens came to the Matri Sadan Ashram and asked the Head of the Institution Swami Shivanand Sarawasti in front of several witnesses and Video Camera to conduct a Medical Checkup to ensure the well being of Br. Yajnanand who is on continuous fast (on water only) from 28th Oct, 2009. After much initiation & arguments Swami Shivanand Ji agreed to call Br. Yajnanand for the checkup and assured that he will not be manhandled/kidnapped and everything will be done with his approval. Br. Yajnanand came out of the Room that he locked from inside to ensure his well-being and after assurance from Swamiji.
As he came out and sat on the bed the unidentified mens standing around started preparing for the planned lifting and attacked him fromall directions.
Swami Shivanand Ji asked all not to physically assault and manhandle Br. Yajnanad and asked them to take him with them peacefully. He said
"The Brahamcharis of Matri Sadan will go to any extent and will sacrifice their lives in the fight against the corruption and mining activities in Gangaji. Br. Yajnanand was on satyagrah in continuation of Br. Dayanand who was also allegedly lifted by Local Police in the same manner on 27th Oct & still in Police Custody who was on Fast for the same cause."
Today Br. Yajnanand entered his 23th day. The two Genuine demands for which the Saints of Matri Sadan are on Satyagrah are:
- Complete stoppage of rampant illegal mining & quarrying activities in Ganga bed and deforestation of surrounding forest of Ajeetpur and Misserpur area adjoining Haridwar city where Kumbh mela 2010 is going to be held. The holy Ganga is being destroyed and polluted by stone mining activities which is facilitated by politico & administrative officials and mafia nexus.
- Immediate suspension & judicial action against the Politicians, Police Officials, Bueraucrats, Administrative Officials, D.M.(Haridwar), S.D.M.(Haridwar), Tehsildar, C.O.(Kankhal) for their alleged involvement in corruption & harressment of the Brahamcharis of Matri Sadan & organizing illegal activities in the Ganga Bed & Surrounding Forests for heavy financial benefits.
Further please take cognizance of the letter sent to you earlier dated 25/10/2009 in which we informed you about the activities of the Mafia & Police Officials & also asked you to take actions so that the saints of Matri Sadan are given their Fundamental Human Rights. But the case was disposed off at local level without any action.
On 27th Oct Br. Dayanand was Lifted/Kidnapped by local Administrative & Police Officials in the same manner. He is still is police custody in jail under false and fabricated case and he is being forcefully feeded without his consent and legal formalities. He is not given basic amenities not even to relieve himself of nature's calls & is being Physically & Mentally Harressed and Tortured. We are afraid that the Two saints of Matri Sadan might be tortured and murdered in police custody, because they are on indefinite fast against Corruption & Noble Cause of saving National River Ganga from pollution, Illegal mining & Deforestation. The politico & administrative official and mafia nexus are togather in destroying the National River Ganga.
We pray you to Please take the immediate and appropriate action for the above Human Right Violations and to prevent further Human Right Violations to the Saints of Matri Sadan. Also to save the life of Br.Dayanand, Br. Yajnanand and National River Ganga, and Environment.

History:
- After 30 days of continuous fast by Br.Dayanand on 7th March, 2009 Commissioner Garwal Mandal Mr B.S Pawar ordered to stop mining with immediate effect. (Enclosed -2).
- The same commissioner ordered to start mining on fraudulently pretext of Hon’ble High Court order of Uttarakhand Nainital dated 4th July 2009. (Enclosed -3)
- The High court writ petition misc.single 398 of 2009 stated that Learned Chief standing council however, has stated that the report does not state positively that in this area mining work be given and he needs to study this report, after which he will give the statement to the court. On the next hearing he give statement to the court that he is not able to give any commitment in this regard before this court. Therefore the Commissioner Garwal Mandal is directed to examine report and if the report allow for mining in a scientific manner then the petitioner shall be allowed to do the mining for which he was earlier granted permission. The petitioner fraudulently expressed himself as a legal licensee under the valid licence (Enclosed High Court order page 1 para-1). The truth is that mining can be done only by Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam who is the respondent No.2. All the respondents knowingly and with illegal intention fail to counter this fact that writ petitioner fraudulently showed himself as a legal licensee for Mining. The mining report by committee of non scientific persons of District Administration reported fraudulently that 50 lakhs cubic meter minerals come in this area. The fact is Ganga bed had dug out more than 10 to 15 feet and destroyed the surrounding forest by mining mafia.
- On 20th Oct, 2009 at 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Commissioner Garwal Mandal took all the documents, discussed and visited the Ajeetpur and Missurpur area. He was convinced by the above facts and promised to take appropriate action within 2 to 3 days.
- On 25th Oct, 2009 at 2:30 pm the visit of SDM has affirmed that the Administration of Haridwar can go to any extent even up to the ATTEMPT TO MURDER of Saints of Matri Sadan on Fast/Satyagrah.
- On 27th Oct, 2009 at 9:30 pm Br. Dayanand was taken forcefully from the ashram in the presense Tehsildar Pooran Singh, C.O.(Kankhal) and other unidentified mens with the knowledge of D.M.(Haridwar) & S.D.M.(Haridwar). Br. Dayanand was physically tortured and was forcefully feeded in order to end his Fast/Satyagrah. Br. Dayanand is still in police custody and still on undefinite Fast/Satyagrah even after physical & mental torture & tarpitude in the jail. The Saints of Matri Sadan have lined up in numbers to stand up one by one and sacrifice their life in this cause to save Maa Ganga from these perpetrators and have decided to cotinue their Peaceful Fast/Satyagrah till the Illegal Activities are stopped and the judicial action is takes against all the persons involved.
